I moved to Basel in 2000 to assume the role of Head of Research Strategy where I had the opportunity to lead two major reorganizations of R&D at Roche, both focused on enhancing innovation. This work culminated with the “Pharma in 2015 “ strategy that was implemented in 2007.
Following a sabbatical at the Institute for OneWorld Health in California in 2008, I returned to Basel to head the Group Research Strategy department and became involved in emerging technologies, open innovation, and new innovation models.
In 2014, we opened TakeWing through which I have pursued my passion for innovation, working with consultancy groups, executive education, and biotech startups.
My Basel career has been focused on innovation, transformation and change. I’ve been very fortunate to work with many different groups and individuals that have allowed me to explore these topics from a wide variety of perspectives and views. Together, we have undertaken many experiments and learned many lessons.
